Middle Goddesses | Panels | 1993–1996

In Early I tended to work in one size (about my height). During the Middle I experimented with different sizes. During this time I shipped a lot of artwork to different shows—and a private shipping company ran a forklift through the crate of one piece in transit.

In response I resolved to work each successive drawing in “panels,” or sections, so they would meet the parcel limits for the U.S. Post Office. I also experimented with the texture of “erasing” by applying masking tape and removing it from a drawing. In several of pieces from Middle I re-explored themes from Early.
